A combined strategic and subdivision planning role, Berrimah Industrial Estate started life as a vacant RD (Restricted Development) Parcel within the Berrimah North area on the outskirts of Darwin. Brad Cunnington was engaged to draft planning policy for a specific use zone and subsequently manage an application to amend the Northern Territory Planning Scheme by rezoning the land from RD to SD42. Once rezoned, a series of design and statutory planning processes resulted in some 100 light industrial lots responding to the unique location and drainage considerations of the land. Berrimah Industrial Estate is an evolving light industrial area strategically located on major transport corridors with excellent accessibility to the Darwin and Palmerston urban areas, rural areas and the East Arm Port.
